MMDCE Nominees In Greater Accra Confirmation Begins Today
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From today, Monday, September 27, 2021, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies in the Greater Accra Region will commence the process of confirming MMDCE nominees in the region.

In their separate jurisdictions, the Assemblies are expected to affirm or reject the nominees.

Assembly members in the municipal assemblies of Ayawaso Central, Korle Klottey, and Ablekuma West are scheduled to confirm their MCE nominations today.

In the Greater Accra Region, these three assemblies are the only ones set to participate in the exercise today.

The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council has set September 27 to October 7, 2021 as the date for the region’s confirmation of the president’s MMDCE nominees.

Other regional coordinating councils have similar timelines for the confirmation of MMDCE’s appointees made by President Akufo Addo.

President Akufo- Addo nomination for the 260 Metropolitan Municipal and District Assemblies were unveiled last Sunday by Minister for Local Government Dan Botwe (MMDCEs).

Of the 260, 125 are MMDCEs who were already in office and were nominated for re-election, while 135 are newcomers.
