Ministry of Health to begin nationwide recruitment of Health Professionals April 16

The Ministry of Health has announced plans to commence a nationwide recruitment of health professionals effective April 16, 2026, following the granting of financial clearance.

In a press release issued on April 2, the Ministry indicated that the recruitment exercise will be decentralised and conducted at the district level, based on verified vacancies across the country.

According to the statement, the process will be competitive and transparent, guided by an approved quota system that cuts across all professional categories and year groups. Authorities also stressed that all recruitments will be undertaken strictly within approved budgetary limits.

Qualified health professionals have been advised to monitor official Ministry of Health platforms as well as district health administration channels for vacancy announcements and application guidelines.

Prospective applicants are also encouraged to prepare the necessary documentation and credentials ahead of the rollout to ensure a smooth application process.

The Ministry noted that the financial clearance granted for the recruitment is valid until December 31, 2026, within which all recruitment activities must be completed.

It further urged all eligible professionals to take advantage of the opportunity to contribute to strengthening healthcare delivery across the country.
