Mexico, USA friendlies will boost our preparations- Chris Hughton

Playing international friendly games against the United States of America and Mexico will be advantageous to the preparations of the Black Stars for upcoming assignments according to head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Chris Hughton.

He said this in the wake of the 2023 AFCON Draw that had Ghana placed in Group B alongside Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde.

Ahead of the competition slated for January, Hughton spoke about the upcoming friendly games on October 15 against Mexico and October 18 against USA.

“You plan and hope to build something. We have two games here in USA which I think will be advantageous for us as regards to our preparations going into the two (2026 FIFA) World Cup games and of course into AFCON.”

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton

“There are areas of our game that we can improve there is no doubt about that. Perhaps scoring goals early enough in games to take pressure off ourselves is one area.”

Ghana takes on Madagascar and Comoros on November 13 and 21 respectively.
