A 30-YEAR-old mason has accidentally fallen from an eight storey building, whilst working as a labourer on a hostel project at Ayeduase in Kumasi, resulting in his demise.

Identified as William Boadu, the deceased was said to be working with his colleagues when calamity suddenly struck around 12:40pm on May 17, 2025, the KNUST Police report, has disclosed.

“Whilst work was in progress, one of the labourers named William Boadu, now deceased, who was directing mortar from a concrete mixer on the eighth floor of the building was trapped by a torn lifting chain machine and was pulled to the ground.

“William fell unconscious and was rushed to Aniniwaah medical centre for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival; and the body was deposited at the medical facility’s mortuary,” the police said.

According to the police, one Daniel Boateng, a 33 year old pharmacist of Atonsu in Kumasi, accompanied by Emmanuel Anning, a mason, reported the story to the KNUST police after it happened.

The police, after being informed of the incident, proceeded to the mortuary and found the body of a 30 year old William Boadu.  “It was found supine on a stretcher in a wine coloured Lacoste over a pair of ash coloured shorts.

“The body was carefully inspected, and blood was found to have oozed from his mouth and nostrils. The body also had fractured right foot and left hand, and broken chin,” the police said.

The body, the police said, was photographed and re-deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy, adding that the accident scene was visited and processed by the police, who are investigating the case.
