Marital infidelity can destroy the trust that holds a marriage together, leaving partners struggling with insecurity and uncertainty about their relationship, Rev. Benjamin Boateng has cautioned.
Speaking on managing the effects of marital infidelity in marriage, relationships and friendships on Nyansapo Fie, Plan B FM’s family, relationship and lifestyle programme, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua, Rev. Boateng explained that trust forms the foundation of relationships, and without it, the relationship can begin to fall apart.
He noted that infidelity breaks the promises partners make to each other, making it difficult for the betrayed partner to trust again. He stressed that rebuilding lost trust requires significant effort from the partner who broke it.
Rev. Boateng further emphasised the importance of transparency in rebuilding trust, explaining that the partner responsible for the betrayal must be open and honest to help the other partner regain confidence in the relationship.
He added that communication must follow trust as an essential element in managing the effects of infidelity and helping relationships recover.
