The victim has been identified as Eric Twumasi, aged 45.

After the shooting incident, a report was made to police indicating that some men had been wielding pump action guns and locally manufactured pistols, firing haphazardly.

The men were firing their guns on the morning of the incident.

According to police at Asuom, the shooting took place some 40 minutes before the report.

Police proceeded to the scene and found the body of Eric Twumasi lying in a pool of blood in a supine position.

The pump-action shotgun was left in the compound with one used shell.

The victim was conveyed to the Kade Government Hospital, where it was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The body has since been kept at the same hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy. No arrests have been made yet.
