Man detained for reportedly hitting a woman till she collapsed

The Awutu Beraku District Police Command has arrested a young ambulance for allegedly assaulting a 56-year-old woman at Awutu Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

The young man, who is in his thirties, allegedly slapped the victim several times on the grounds that she had gossiped about him.

The suspect has been identified as James Anquandoh.

Details available indicate that the young man was in his room and stepped out, accusing the woman of gossiping about him in the area.

He moved towards her and allegedly slapped her multiple times.

The victim, according to eyewitnesses, collapsed and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Relatives of the victim disclosed that the woman has suffered bruises and an effect in her ears and is currently on admission at the Awutu Beraku Health Centre for treatment.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the police and assisting them with their investigation.
