Majority of Ghanaians who are against the introduction of the controversial Electronic levy are also die-hard supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Communicator, Justice for Ghana, Selorm Dramani Dzramado claims per research conducted, residents of Nhyiaeso in Kumasi represent section of NPP sympathizers who are against the E-levy but are refusing to voice out for obvious reasons.
“If you go to the Constituency of Stephen Amoah, that is Nhyiaeso, which is one the strongholds of NPP, with hand on heart, majority of people in that constituency will tell you that they oppose to the E-levy”, he claimed on Metro TV’s Inside Pages hosted by Moro Awudu.
Questioned if there is evidence to support claims, Dramani Dzramado stated: “we’ve people who have been going round collating views of Ghanaians to really know whether they share in our position to the E-levy”.
According to the leading member of Ghana for Justice, majority of Ghanaians are afraid to speak against the government on the E-levy for fear of being victimized and more.
“The silence of majority of Ghanaians on the E-levy doesn’t mean they are in support”, Serlom Dramani Dzramado stated as some Ghanains are also calling on the government to rescind its decision on the bill.
