The maiden edition of Tema Most Beautiful pageant has been launched at a colourful ceremony held at the Alisa Hotel in Tema on Saturday 11th November, 2023
The beauty pageant aims to serve as a platform for promoting Tema and reinvigorating its entertainment industry.
The CEO, Mr. Nathaniel Amoabeng Turkson, along with Eric James Ocloo, the COO of Tema Media, are the brains behind the event.
They stress in an interview with Plan B News that , a significant portion of Ghanaian talent originates from Tema, as well as many individuals involved in “Beauty with a Purpose.”
According to them, they see a compelling need to continually seek and promote talent within Tema. Emphasizing Tema as the hub of the world, their goal is to annually showcase beauty paired with talent emerging from the vibrant city.
The winners’ image, post-pageant, will be utilized to bolster Tema’s image with a cash prize of 30,000 GHS as well as an SUV car .
“In addition, this event is also an invitation to the diaspora visiting Ghana in December to extend their journey to Tema,” they stated.
Guest speaker for the occasion was the Deputy Minister of Creative Arts, Mark Okraku Mantey, he commended the organizers Tema Media for putting together this initiative and also encouraged them to continue projecting the Ghanaian culture.
He further encouraged all ladies to get motivated and take part in the event. He underscored the importance of beauty pageants which has opened doors for some ladies to become communicators, fashion designers for corporate Ghana.
