The former Member of Parliament for the Ledzokuku Krowor Constituency and former deputy Minister of Health, Bernard Okoe-Boye has revealed that former President John Dramani Mahama takes same salary as current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo every month and also get new V8 Landcruisers from the state every four years.
Bernard Okoe-Boye made this revelation during a panel discussion on the Newday show on TV3 today, October 13, 2021.
The former Legislator was responding to claims by the member of Parliament for Tamale North Constituency, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini that President Akuffo-Addo has ignored concerns and continues to travel in opulence.
Bernard Okoe-Boye argued that, even President Mahama chartered a flight from Accra to Ho in the Volta region and members of the opposition sees nothing wrong with that. He further reiterated that it is the state that takes care of the former President because he takes same salary as the current President and his cars are changed for him in every four (4) years.
He also reiterated that if the former President can charter a flight from Accra to Ho for the sake of comfort, then the comfort and safety of President Akuffo-Addo should also be of concern to all Ghanaians.
” Are you aware that the last time JM went to Ho for a program, he chartered a passion air flight? He couldn’t afford a 45-minutes Landcruiser trip to Ho. By the way, the state gives him new V8 vehicles every four years. For the information of viewers, JM takes same salary as the President every four years so when you see JM paying for a flight, we (the state) gave him the money” he said.
