The founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo is against the allegations from the former president John Dramani Mahama that, the Electoral Commission (EC) rigged the outcome of the 2020 general elections in favor of President Nana Baba Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B Fm, Mr. Akpaloo stated that, if the former president had any evidence to buttress his claims, he should have showed it to the judge at the Supreme Court during the petition hearing early this year.
Mr. Akpaloo further stated that, this action of the former president is a ploy to stay relevant and have favour within his party so that he can be given the chance to contest in the 2024 general elections on the party’s ticket.
“As a matter of fact, the elections were free and fair”, he asserted and added that media personnel were at all the polling stations across the country and the results they published from these polling stations were no different from the electoral commission’s declaration.
He maintained that, all the allegations are false and should be disregarded but if he has any substantial evidence, he should prove these allegations.
