Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo Has Zero Knowledge Of The Takoradi kidnapping Issue – NDC

Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo Has Zero Knowledge Of The Takoradi kidnapping Issue – NDC
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed allegations made by Ernest Owusu Bempah, convener of the pro-NPP group ‘Fixing The Country Movement,’ that former president John Mahama and the party’s chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, masterminded the alleged kidnapping of Josephine Panyin Mensah, a supposed pregnant woman in Takoradi, as a ‘blatant lie.’

Mr. Owusu Bempah’s assertions, according to the party, are baseless, “wicked, nasty, and disdainful,” and are intended to divert attention away from the government’s inadequate management of security issues in the country.

At a press conference last week, Ernest Owusu Bempah, who is also the Head of Communications for the Ghana Gas Company Limited, claimed he believes the NDC Chairman is behind the event.

The NDC, however, maintained in a statement issued by Kakra Essamuah, Director of Communication, that the two party leaders accused of being the brains behind the incidents are unrelated.

“Neither the highly regarded former President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, nor the distinguished National Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, have any involvement in the events in the Western Region, nor are they tied to any of the characters in the alleged kidnapping saga”, the NDC said in a statement.

According to the statement the leadership of the NDC has far more noble objectives to engage its attention.

The NDC then advised the public to ignore comments made by Owusu Bempah and continue to hold the government accountable.
