The Lomotey family of Lomotsoku Naa Blafo We-Asere has announced the passing of their beloved patriarch, Numo Blafo III, former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

The announcement was made at the Asere Mantse Palace in Kaneshie, where family members, elders, and close associates gathered to honour his memory.

A release issued by the family and copied to The Ghanaian Times stated that the late Numo Blafo III passed away peacefully on February 25th after a brief illness. He was 58 and is survived by a wife and three children.

The release noted that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course, in coordination with the Asere Mantse Palace and relevant traditional authorities, ensuring that Numo Blafo III was celebrated with the honour he so richly deserved.

Known in private life as Seth Ofolikwei Lomotey, Numo Blafo III served as President of the GaDangme Council of Wulomei (Chief Priests), providing spiritual guidance and working tirelessly to preserve Ga-Dangme culture and traditions.

The distinguished traditional leader’s contributions extended beyond traditional leadership. He served as head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA) until his death. Numo Blafo III also served as the PRO of the AMA during the tenure of Mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuije and later as head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC), advocating for the integration of traditional medicine and public engagement.

He was also a dedicated member of the Greater Accra Regional Peace Council, where his wisdom and calm demeanor helped resolve conflicts and foster harmony within communities.

“Numo Blafo III’s legacy of leadership, integrity, education, and service will continue to inspire generations,” the release stated.

The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.
