Former Medeama striker, Tanko Mohammed has revealed that players in the Ghana Premier League are not being paid well and that poses a threat to the development of football in the country.
The Ex- Aduana Stars forward has also taken a swipe at some club administrators in Ghana for coming out publicly to say they are more important than the players. A matter he described as “sad” and “unfortunate” on the part of these club owners.
In an interview with Tema based radio station, Plan B FM on the Ka Wadwen Sports Show, the forward said the situation is worrying causing mass player exodus, which does not augur well for the game.
“I am very disappointed in the club owners to come out and say this. They should know that without the players, they are nothing”, he said
“The way players are treated here in Ghana is very bad, some are even paid as less as 300 cedis and 500 cedis, even players in Togo receive more than us”, he stressed.
