Former Majority Leader in Parliament and MP for Tema West, Lawyer Abraham Osei Aidoo has urge the yet to be inaugurated 8th Parliament to work hand in hand for the betterment of the country.
The call by the Legal practitioner comes on the back of both parties (NPP & NDC) securing 137 seats each with both sides claiming the majority with one independent Member of Parliament for the Fomena Constituency Andrew Amoako Asiamah who has already indicated that he will sit with the NPP in the next Parliament
The former Lawmaker made the disclosure on Plan B FM’s breakfast show Nkosuo Nsem, and has appealed to the yet to be inaugurated 8th Parliament to eschew personal and party interest and put the nation at heart in their line of duty to ensure that the mandate the people of Ghana has entrusted in them will not be jeopardized.
Mr. Aidoo also indicated that, it would amount to dictatorship if the President decides to use his veto power to accent or override the workings of parliament with regards to policies and bills because of the current composition of the 8th Parliament is likely to have.
