A political analyst, Mr. Alex Emmanuel Nti in an interview on Plan B FM’s late afternoon show EBAANOSEN, has suggested that anybody or politician that mounts the stage or platform and makes derogatory comments to destabilize the peace of the country should be arrested and put behind bars for at least a month before he/she is invited for interrogations for additional punishment to serve as a deterrent to others.
His comments come on the back of a recent comment by member of parliament for Abetifi constituency Bryan Acheampong comment made when addressing party supporters at that the ruling New Patriotic Party will never hand over power to the opposition NDC in 2025.
He also added that former president John Dramani Mahama’s “Do or die” comment for the NDC in the the 2024 general elections, and party chairman Johnson Asidedu Nketia for his brazen proclamation that members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are willing to sacrifice their lives to win the 2024 elections as dangerous comments that could mar the peace and democracy of the country.
He further stressed that such comments are made under the influence of the crowd they see when they mount the stage.
“The crowd sometimes make Politicians talk like they have taken “Akpateshie”,. They talk anyhow, some don’t mean any harm but others too are well calculated and dangerous as the nation is preparing for election next year” he said
He also called on the Christian council and other religious bodies to engage politicians and advise them to refrain from comments that could jeopardize the peace and tranquility we are enjoying as a nation as we approach the 2024 general election.
