Lands and Natural Resources Minister Has Failed And Needs To Resign

Lands and Natural Resources Minister Has Failed And Needs To Resign
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In a discussion on  “Ebaanosen” show on Plan B FM, a Political Analyst, Mr Emmanuel Alex  declared that the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources has failed in his duties and needs to resign to at least save his reputation.

Spelling out his reasons for making such a statement, Mr Emmanuel highlighted that the ministry, together with the government implemented their own policies to sustain the fight against galamsey activities without involving the  Chiefs and local authorities , which includes DCEs, Assembly members and unit committees ,

Rather, the ministry introduced the “operation stop Galamsey”  as a tool to combat illegal mining activities going on in the country.

This policy he explains, is what has failed in doing the job it was implemented to do and the local authorities and Chiefs should not be blamed for that as it is a total fail on the side of the Ministry and government.

However, he countered his initial statement and said that the ministry not involving the local authorities should not have stopped them from assisting in the fight as their involvement will, to a large extent help in combating galamsey operations in Ghana.

He urged the government to involve the national house of chiefs and also severely sanction Chiefs , who allow galamsey operators access to their lands.

Ending his statement, Mr Emmanuel entreated the government to not politicize this fight against galamsey for good of the entire nation and our generation to come. He also urged all Ghanaians to help join hands to fight for our self and our lineage.
