Land Guards Assault Pastor, Family Over Borehole

A popular land guard identified as Obama has allegedly assaulted a Pastor, his family, and some residents at Gbewe in the Greater -Accra Region.

Obama has since been declared wanted by Weija Police.

Information gathered indicates the suspect went on a rampage with his boys over the weekend when they had information that a machine was drilling a borehole at Gbewe in the Weija Gbawe Municipality.

The incident took place when a self-acclaimed Asafoatse stormed the Gbewe Hills area to demand an amount of Ghc 2000 from a resident who was drilling a borehole and was questioned why making such a demand after videoing him and he left the scene angrily with a motorbike to deploy the suspected land guard to attack them.

The Head Pastor of Christ Fishers of Men Ministry based at Weija Gbawe, William Kwadjo Antwi, also a victim, who narrated the incident said after the Asafoatse was confronted and left, the Obama guy, stormed there with a pickup vehicle with some thugs to attack him and his family when he tried to prevent them from extorting money from a neighbour drilling the same borehole.

The Pastor said his son, Raymond Addo, who also attempted to separate the fight got his mobile phone seized and also assaulted by the land guards.

He said the land guards, allegedly use a shovel to hits his son and push his head to hit a fence wall.

The Pastor added his outfit has since reported the matter to the police but no action has been taken since, after giving them a medical form to attend hospitals.

He, however, appeals to the Inspector General of Police to intervene as soon as possible.

Some of the residents in the community, also expressed worried about how the suspected land guard Obama has been terrorizing them in the area.
