A Political Analyst, Clement Acheampong has attributed the spate of corruption in the country to the lack of integrity among people in responsible positions.
According to him, the nation will be fighting a losing battle with corruption if attention is not given to appointing or electing people with integrity to positions of power.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia Speaking at the 76th Graduation ceremony of the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon on Saturday, 13th November 2021, charged politicians, in particular, to emulate the Akufo-Addo government by backing up their claims of fighting corruption through deeds, not just words, to make Ghana a better place.
Reacting to this on Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ with Ohene Addo, Mr. Acheampong indicated that we need strong men and institutions fight corruption.
He called on leaders to be proactive, bold enough to tackle corruption. He stated that Ghana and Africans now embraced corruption as a norm rather than seeing it as something that is unacceptable.
He added that, the level of poverty in African Countries like Ghana is continually deepened due to corruption.
