Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III outlined his vision for Kwahu, emphasizing unity, economic growth, and community development.
It was a glorious occasion in Abene last Saturday as the chiefs and people of the Kwahu Traditional Area officially outdoored Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III as the newly installed Omanhene of Kwahu. The vibrant town was filled with excitement as tradition and culture took center stage in celebrating their new paramount chief.
Born Baffour Akoto Osei, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III is a civil engineer and a royal from the Nkwatia gate of the Etena Royal Family. His enstoolment marks a historic moment as he becomes the 25th Omanhene to ascend the Mampong Agyei Stool of Abene, the paramount seat of Kwahuman.
The colorful durbar, held at the Osono Gyimah Mampong Agyei Palace in Abene, was chaired by Osaberimah Bosompem Ayirepe II, Sewurakwahene of the Benkum Division of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area. The event was graced by dignitaries from various sectors, including a representative from the office of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Osaberimah Ansah Sasraku, the Chief of Akuapem Mamfi and Kyidomhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area.
Daasebre’s Vision for Kwahuman
In his address, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III reflected on his journey, acknowledging the experiences and people who have shaped his life.
“I have seen God’s hand in shaping my destiny. I have faced failure, made regrettable decisions, and also achieved success beyond my expectations. I have encountered both the kindness and cruelty of humanity, and through it all, I have learned that life consists of the good, the bad, and the ugly,” he stated.
He admitted that he had little knowledge of chieftaincy before his enstoolment but expressed deep gratitude to the chiefs and elders who mentored him. He emphasized their unwavering support and pledged to work closely with them for the progress of Kwahuman.
“In every house, there are dissenting voices, but I take solace in the fact that the overwhelming majority are ready to stand together for the journey ahead,” he added.

To achieve this, he revealed that the chiefs in Abene have already begun farming a 200-acre land as part of an agricultural initiative. Additionally, discussions are underway with Members of Parliament in the Kwahu area to establish at least two Agricultural Mechanization Centers. He is also engaging with NGOs and private companies to introduce community-based agricultural schemes backed by fair and equitable marketing structures.
“I will work hard to leverage the entrepreneurial skills of our successful businesspersons to encourage the youth into entrepreneurship and to uplift the image of Abene as the cultural and spiritual heart of Okwahuman,” he assured.
Call for Unity and Support
In her remarks, Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, Okwahuhemaa, called on all Kwahu citizens to rally behind Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, expressing confidence that his reign would bring significant development and put Kwahuman on the right path for growth and progress.
With a renewed commitment to tradition, culture, and economic advancement, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III begins his reign with a clear roadmap for the prosperity of Kwahuman.
