Residents of Denkyemuoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region have been thrown into shock following the sudden death of a 50-year-old man, identified as Erekodo, who reportedly collapsed at a local drinking spot on Easter Monday.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at a popular chop bar located behind a washing bay in the community. Eyewitnesses say the deceased was among patrons at the spot when he suddenly collapsed without any prior sign of distress.

“It all happened so fast. One moment he was sitting there, and the next moment he just slumped,” an eyewitness recounted. “We tried to help, but he was unresponsive.”

According to residents, efforts were made to revive him, but he was later pronounced dead, leaving many at the scene in disbelief. The cause of death remains unknown, deepening concerns among community members.

Another resident described the incident as disturbing, saying, “This is very painful, especially happening during Easter, a time we are supposed to celebrate life and be with family.”

Authorities have since been notified, and the police are expected to launch a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. “We are hoping the investigations will give us answers because this is very worrying,” a concerned resident added.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to the morgue for preservation and autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.

The tragic incident has cast a pall over the community, with residents calling for a thorough investigation to unravel the mystery behind the sudden death.
