Kumasi: Man, 26, shoots girlfriend dead over alleged infidelity

A 26-year-old woman, Victoria Dapaah popularly called Maadwoa has allegedly been shot dead by her boyfriend at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region.

The incident occurred on Thursday, 20 April 2023 around 9:30 pm.

The victim was said to have been shot six times in her head, neck, chest, and stomach by her boyfriend for allegedly cheating on him.

The boyfriend whose name was only given as “Tycoon” took to his heels in a Pragya tricycle after the crime was committed.

The elder brother of the deceased, Emmanuel Oppong who said he had earlier tried to prevent her from going out

H said he heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene to see his sister in a pool of blood.

Oppong said they rushed her to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The crime scene experts from the regional Police command have visited the scene and have commenced investigations into the incident.

The Mother of the deceased, Abena Nyarko who could not control her tears called on the police to conduct swift investigations into the incident and arrest the killer of her daughter.
