A tragic incident occurred at Abuakwa-Abakomadi in the Ashanti Region, where a 29-year-old woman, Bernice Asantewaa, allegedly stabbed her husband, Kofi Antwi, 35, to death.

According to residents, the incident was a result of a confrontation over Bernice’s infidelity.

Brother to the deceased, Mr. Joseph Acheampong, shared details with this reporter that the sad incident occurred on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Mr. Acheampong disclosed that his brother had been experiencing marital issues due to Bernice’s infidelity.

He added that despite family advice to end the relationship, Kofi Antwi declined.

“Before his death, Kofi Antwi had travelled for business for a week. However, Bernice threatened to harm him when he returns,” he said.

Upon his return, a fierce altercation ensued, resulting in both parties stabbing each other. Unfortunately, Kofi Antwi succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Acheampong noted that Bernice Asantewaa is receiving treatment at Suntreso Government Hospital, while Kofi Antwi’s body has been deposited at Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s morgue pending autopsy.
