Sad news emanating from Eastern region reveals that, a 21 year old boy in Akyem Hemang in the fanteakwa South District in the region has allegedly killed his grandparents and injured one with firewood.
It is revealed that Kuffour allegedly threatened his grandparents, the odikro of Ponposo, a suburb of Hemang with cutlass on Friday 1st April 2022 without any tangible reasons but the residents were fast to seize the cutlass to rescue the odikro and wife.
Odikro Appiah Korang is reported to be 78 years and wife 73years.
Speaking with the Assembly member for the area, who doubles as the presiding member for fanteakwa South District, Hon. Johnson Appiah, he revealed to Radio 1 News that, “Odikro Appiah Korang and wife were again pounced on in the evening of Saturday 2nd April 2022 by Kuffour around 5:00pm to demand for the seized cutlass”.
“When all forces and attempts failed, Kuffour reportedly got hold of firewood and mercilessly pounced on Odikro Appiah Korang and his wife.” – Hon. Johnson Appiah said.
A tenant who tried to stop him (Kuffour) also sustained several degrees of wounds.
Kuffour was then chased by the citizenry and has been handed over to the Osino police for further investigation and prosecution. The bodies of the two, Odikro Appiah Korang and wife have been deposited at the morgue also pending further investigations and burial.
