Renowned voice coach Kofi Asamoah has called on the family and organizers of the late Daddy Lumba’s funeral to extend a formal invitation to King Charles III. Speaking on Plan B Showbiz with Blutut Africa, Kofi Asamoah noted that King Charles recently included Daddy Lumba’s classic hit “Mpenpen” on his official playlist — a gesture that proves the legendary Ghanaian musician had international impact.
According to Asamoah, the inclusion of “Mpenpen” on the British monarch’s playlist suggests that King Charles was a fan of Daddy Lumba’s music, adding that it is a clear sign that “music is a universal language that connects people beyond borders and cultures.”
He believes that inviting King Charles to the funeral or memorial service would not only honor Lumba’s global reach but also elevate Ghana’s cultural presence on the world stage. “If King Charles recognized Lumba in his personal music collection, it means the legend reached royal ears. Let’s acknowledge that by extending an invitation,” he said.
