He made this statement in the wake of countries joining forces to host the expanded format of the football tournament that has had participating nations increase from 32 to 48.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada while the 20030 edition will be hosted by Portugal, Morocco and Spain.

Speaking in an interview as Ghana prepares to compete in next year’s World Cup, the Sports Minister cited the possibility of Ghana being a co-host with other West African nations.

“Who knows? The next would be Ghana, Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire coming together to also host the world and it would be good.”

President John Mahama

“With the level of infrastructure His Excellency John Dramani Mahama wants us to do, I believe that we together with Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire…we can also ask for that right [to host the World Cup]” Kofi Adams said.
