A graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has filed an interim injunction to halt the extension of Professor Akosua Dickson’s term as the university’s Vice-Chancellor.

On June 20, 2024, KNUST formally declared the reappointment of Prof. (Mrs.) Dickson as Vice-Chancellor for an additional term.

During its 282nd routine meeting, the University Council approved the Committee’s proposal to prolong her term for another two years, starting from August 1, 2024, and ending on July 31, 2026.

The University Registrar, Ansah Boateng, confirmed the renewal in an official announcement distributed to the university community and the general public.

In a notice dated July 16, Kofi Clement Ohene Asare, the plaintiff or applicant expressed that the alleged renewal of the Vice Chancellor’s term violated the university’s regulations.
