Ken Ofori Atta Boldly Declares His Stance On Criminalizing LGBT In Ghana

Ken Ofori Atta Boldly Declares His Stance On Criminalizing LGBT In Ghana
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In an exclusive interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana show, one of the controversial questions asked was the stance and views of finance Minister Ken Ofori Ata on the pending LGBT bill before Ghana’s Parliament.

” God created us in his own image. That means in each person is God’s image. I can’t therefore begin to make judgement on any person. I may not like what I may determine to be a sin. But as long as God’s image is in that person and I know that a sinner was forgiven on the last minute on the cross. For me I find it difficult on the issue of Criminalising LGBT In Ghana. Especially when I know that all of us are born in the image of God.” Ken Ofori Ata Boldly Declared.

” My challenge is to evangelise the way God wants us to be and not to criminalize it. We’ve all been to secondary schools, boarding schools and all. We know what happens there. The whole escalation on how Ghanaians react to such issues is interesting ” Ken Ofori Ata added.

Then came the big question from Ken Ofori Ata for the supporters of the bill :

” Is that Desmond Tutu ? He once said that he will fight against this thing just like how South Africans fought against apartheid. A man holding another man’s hand in public. And they are jailed? Where do they put them? In the male or female cell? ” Ken Ofori Ata quizzed.

” So what do you want Parliament to do? ” Paul Adom Otchere cutted in.

” Well, I haven’t even read the bill. So let’s leave it to them” Ken Ofori Ata said.
