The Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has announced that he will be out of the country from Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025.

In a circular dated August 13, 2025, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie stated that during his absence, the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, His Lordship Justice Gabriel Pwamang, will assume responsibility as Acting Chief Justice.

The notice, addressed to all Justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, and heads of judicial divisions and units, was also copied to members of the Judicial Council, the General Legal Council, and the Acting Judicial Secretary.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, who has been serving as Acting Chief Justice following the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, extended his compliments in the official communication.

This temporary transition ensures continuity at the highest levels of Ghana’s judiciary as Justice Pwamang, widely respected for his legal expertise and seniority on the bench, takes up the role in the interim.
