Lawyers for Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament(MP) for Karaga Constituency have demanded that journalists who appeared as panellists on Radio Tamale and wrongfully accused him of harbouring a lion in his house retract the accusation and apologise or face him in court for defamation.

The Journalists, Fuseini Safianu Mandeya and Rashid Yakubu(alias Nanton Doha Naa), on March 31, 2026, alleged that Dr Amin Adam rears a lion in his house after getting the support of his people and party, suggesting that rather than support his people and party, Dr Amin Adam has chosen to feed a lion with large amounts of beef.

They have been asked to retract the statement and give it the same level of prominence with which they propagated the allegation.

Rashid Yakubu and Mohammed Bandirigbum are also to retract false statements made in relation to the presence of a lion in Dr Amin Adam’s house and that he purchased the said lion for $1 million.

“You are hereby notified by this letter our intention to take legal action on behalf of our client against you if you fail to fulfill the demands made on you by our client in paragraph 13 herein above within five(5) days inclusive of the day of service of this demand notice on you,” a demand notice authored by Sylvester Isang and addressed to the journalists said.

Attached is the demand notice:
