‘It Wasn’t Suicide But Murder’ – Wife Arrested For Murdering Her Husband At Mim

‘It Wasn’t Suicide But Murder’ – Wife Arrested For Murdering Her Husband At Mim
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Rosemond Achia, 34, has been arrested this afternoon after the release of an autopsy report on her late husband. The autopsy report which was signed and confirmed by Dr Anchama Gideon stated that Derrick Ofori died from head injuries, not heart failure.

His head may have been hit with a hard object, like wood or stone. His skull looked cracked and broken. There were lots of broken bones in the head, something suicide cannot cause. This happens when a hard object is pressed on the skull.

By the report, we can confirm Derrick Ofori was murdered. It wasn’t suicide but murder, Dr Anchama Gideon stated to the Mim Police this morning after a one-month autopsy examination.

Case Briefing

Derrick Ofori, 40, was reported dead on Saturday 27 November 2021 by his wife, Rosemond Achia. Rosemond had reported that her husband had complained of chest pains before collapsing on the farm on 27 November.

The family disputed the argument of Rosemond and filed a police complaint with the Mim Police Department on 28 November before the body was taken from the farm. The Mim police through the Mim Oyoko family clan, took the body of Derrick to Goaso Hospital on 28 November 2021 for autopsy examination.

Pathologist Anchama Gideon who examined the body from 27 December 2021 to 3 January 2022, has confirmed Derrick to have been murdered. Derrick’s wife Rosemond is still at the police station helping with investigations.

The family of Derrick believes Rosemond murdered her husband because of extramarital affairs. Derrick was alleged to have been engaging in extra marital affairs. Something his wife, Rosemond, complained about bitterly but never did Derrick confirmed the allegations.

The issue was reported to the Oyoko family (Derrick’s family) several times but Rosemond could not prove any of those allegations towards her husband. The family through the luck of evidence from Rosemond to support her allegations, dismissed the case every time until one Yaa Donkor gave birth.

Rosemond had reported Yaa Donkor to Derrick’s family on 23 March 2021 but both Yaa Donkor and Derrick denied the affairs until Yaa gave birth on 26 September 2021. Yaa denied Derrick been the father of her child despite the resemblances between Derrick and the child. The case was once again thrown away by the Oyoko family when Rosemond could not prove Derrick was the father of the child, and Derrick was cleared of all wrong doings. This and many others, the Oyoko family of Derrick Ofori believes, Rosemond was the one behind Derrick’s murder.
