The Ashanti regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako has threatened to cause the arrest of Kennedy Agyapong if he dares threaten him again.
Popularly called Chairman Wontumi, he said he knows the capabilities of the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, taking into consideration previous threats he issued that led to the death of some people.
He noted that the late Journalist, Ahmed Suale died after the Presidential Aspirant of the NPP threatened him.
Kennedy Agyapong had accused Chairman Wontumi whom he described as a “small boy” of insulting him on his television and radio stations.
Mr Agyapong made the statement when he addressed the gathering of his supporters at Jubilee Park in Kumasi, during his “showdown walk” in the Ashanti region.
Addressing a press conference today in Kumasi in response to Kennedy Agyapong, Chairman Wontumi denied ever insulting the Assin Central Member of Parliament or allowing some people to sit on his television and radio stations to insult him or any other person.
Mr Boasiako entreated the vociferous MP to provide evidence of him (Wontumi) insulting and also allowing people to sit on his television and radio stations to insult him (Kennedy) to take action on it
Chairman Wontumi also indicated that he did not direct the removal of the posters of the former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen as a result of hatred.
He said he directed the removal of the posters because Alan was no longer a member of the party since he had resigned to contest the 2024 general elections as an independent candidate.
