Former President John Dramani Mahama has announced that he will nominate all his cabinet ministers for parliamentary approval in the first 14 days after he is sworn into office.
He made the pledge when he outlined his social contract with the people of Ghana, detailing what he would do in the first 120 days while in office.
He also assured that, by the first ninety days, he would have appointed and sworn into office all his appointees.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to establishing a lean yet efficient government by capping the number of ministers at 60.
Launching the NDC’s manifesto in Winneba, Central Region, on Saturday, August 24, the NDC’s flagbearer stated, “We will run the leanest but most efficient government under the Fourth Republic by appointing not more than 60 ministers and deputy ministers in our bid to cut down on government expenditure.”
“We shall combine specific ministries and eliminate government agencies that duplicate each other.”
