If Not For The Vigilance Of The NDC Yesterday, The E-Levy Would Have Been Passed – A. B. A. Fuseini

A ranking member on the communication committee of Parliament and the Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu constituency, A. B. A. Fuseini, has revealed that if not for the vigilance of the NDC group in Parliament yesterday, the infamous E-Levy would have been passed in Parliament.

A. B. Fuseini made this revelation on ‘ALHAJI & ALHAJI’ on Pan Africa television this morning, 18th December 2021, when he described how the majority group in Parliament tried to have to E-Levy passed in Parliament yesterday.

According to A. B. A. Fuseini, as at 1:00 AM yesterday, they were still in Parliament, but he got home about 2:00 AM because they were battling the issues with the E-Levy.

A. B. A. Fuseini indicated that the NPP was trying to foist the E-Levy on them and the good people of this country for which they had wanted to spring a surprise on the minority because the issues with the E-Levy was not part of the issues that had earlier been tabled for discussion in the day.

So, somewhere unknown, when the proceedings of the day seem to have been grinding to a close, the majority group suddenly started gathering their numbers, and it took the observant group of the NDC to know that something was going on.

“They were begining to bring in their members late at that hour from about 11: 00 PM onwards, and that sent the signal that something was about to happen, so we also started gathering our numbers.”

For A. B. A. Fuseini, that was what saved the day, if not, this morning we would hear that the E-Levy has been passed, but for the vigilance of the NDC group in Parliament which came with their 137 members.

“The majority group had stampeded the Finance committee to go and do the referral to the preliminary at a time when they believe that the minority would be caught off guard and the numbers were not there, and they would have passed it.”

Fortunately for the good people of this country, the NDC’s side was able to muster all their 137 members. So, they backed off when they realized that they will lose when a vote is taken.
