ICUMS Is One Of The Best Things That Has Ever Happened To Our Sector – ACHAG

Freight forwarders at the Tema ports have lauded the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) currently being used to facilitate trade activities.

According to them, the system, which was deployed in 2020, has yielded positive results and has helped put them in check.

Mr yaw kyei Acting president of the Association of custom House Agents Ghana has named it one of the best things that has ever happened to them

In an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on plan B Fm’s Ebanoosen mr Yaw kyei said that their Association which is (ACHAG) is a federation of freight forwarding companies who have come together to champion their common interest in the industry.

He said that the initiation of (ICUMS) has really made things very simple and transparent, there’s easy clearance , no mistakes and inflation of charges which is fair enough.

He also said that the early stages of it wasn’t all smooth but when they extended their grievances they were attended to and everything has been smooth and it promising to only get better.

He indicated the 2nd face of the system is is an upgrade to a better version nothing new same but updated.

He concluded that he loves that all their challenges are quickly attended to when addressed and he will highly commend the Government for that.
