I was disappointed in NPP delegates – Chairman Kwasi Poku

Blame NPP Executives for money influence among delegates – Political Analyst

The Tema West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwasi Poku, has expressed disappointment in the way party delegates voted against Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong during the party’s recent flagbearer election.

He made this known on Plan B FM’s Ebanosen programme while reacting to rumours suggesting that Mr. Agyapong intends to form his own political party.

“Kennedy is going nowhere,” Chairman Poku stated.

According to him, Mr. Agyapong has accepted the outcome of the just-ended flagbearership contest, which saw Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerge as the winner. He added that Mr. Agyapong has respected the delegates’ decision and expressed appreciation to them.

Chairman Poku also dismissed rumours that Mr. Agyapong should be considered as a running mate.

“Agyapong will not accept a running mate bid,” he noted.

He further explained that it is rather some well-meaning Ghanaians who believe in Mr. Agyapong’s vision who have encouraged him to consider going independent to pursue his agenda of making Ghana a better place. According to him, although delegates voted against Mr. Agyapong, the grassroots base of the party strongly supports him.
