An Inspector of the Ghana Police Service who murdered his girlfriend at Adum in Kumasi has revealed the rationale behind his actions.

According to him, the lady owed him an amount of GH¢5,000 which she had reportedly refused to settle.

This came up when he appeared in court on Tuesday, April 25.

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi is being charged with murder after shooting his girlfriend multiple times on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

He is also said to have used a service pistol to undertake the dastardly act against 26-year-old Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maadwoa.

During the hearing at the Asokore Mampong District Court, Insp. Ahmed Twumasi said only God knows what happened on the day of the incident.

He also told the court that he had no intention of killing his lover.
