The Hoahi Royal family in the Ashanti Region has distanced itself from an ongoing legal tussle against the occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II over the allodial ownership and absolute tile rights of inheritance of the Boadi Stool Lands.
The Royal Family has vehemently denied engaging some two persons; Odeneho Nanaba Odehyie Kwabena Badu and Nana Akwasi Osei Bonsu as neither legal nor customary attorneys or representatives of the stool or family.
The family insisted that “the two are fraudulently going around using the family name to make unfounded legal claims against The Golden Stool and also selling plots of land of the stool”.
The Royal family also said the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II granted its ancestors a place to live at Boadi under the stool title ‘OHENEYERE’ and the stool was not isolated from the Ayigya, Bomso, and Gyinyase which are all under the Oheneyere stool lands.
Speaking at a news conference, spokesperson for the Boadi Hoahi Royal Family, Benjamin Afrane Amankwaah maintained that the Royal Family has never contested the supremacy and the allodial title ownership of all Asante Lands and for that matter Boadi Lands.
He further said the Royal Family has been in solidarity and subservient to the Golden Stool as subjects, custodians, and children of the stool lands of Boadi and Asanteman.
Mr. Afrane Amankwaah added that “Our family has never denied the Golden Stool or the Asantehene of the Allodial ownership title over Boadi lands.
This is evident in our relationship with the Golden stool as subjects who serve and hold allegiance to the Golden stool on all occasions of the calendar of Asanteman”.
The Hoahi Royal Family has therefore sent a caution and disclaimer to the public that the two persons are engaged in an act of misrepresentation.
The matter has since been reported to the police.
