Chief Inspector Morgan with the Tema Community 2 District Police Command has advised the general public on Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM, that they should avoid being accomplices by conniving with people to commit crimes but rather report it to the police for their arrest.
Speaking on the topic “ACCOMPLICE TO CRIME” Chief Inspector Morgan told Nana Yaw Abrompah that, an accomplice to a crime is a person who becomes equally guilty in the crime of another by knowingly and voluntarily aiding in the committing of an offense.
An accomplice is either an accessory or an abettor. The accessory aids a criminal before the crime, whereas the abettor aids the offender during the crime itself. An abettor is someone who is present actually or constructively at the commission of a crime and incites, encourages, or assists the offender.
Chief Inspector Morgan advised the general public to report criminals to the police and assist in their arrest instead of conniving with offenders.
