Hearts Of Oak Still Owe 2000 Champions League Wining Squad – Dan Quaye

Hearts Of Oak Still Owe 2000 Champions League Wining Squad – Dan Quaye

Hearts of Oak legend, Dan Quaye says the club still owe ’64 Battalions’ squad after winning the 2000 CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup in 2001.

According to the 41- year old former Black Stars defender, the club has failed to honour the promise they made to the players after winning the 2000 CAF Champions League and the Super Cup.

“As we speak now, we have yet to receive the full amount they promised us. There are some arrears that they are supposed to pay us. Most of the former players are bitter about the club because of how they are being treated,” he said on Plan B FM ‘Kawadwen’ sports show.

He also reacted to comments made recently by the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the club, Harry Zakour that the Accra based club does not owe the champions league winning squad.

“That’s absolutely not true; Harry Zakour knows very well that they still owe us some money. I am surprised he came out to say that. He should stop throwing dust into our eyes,” he added.

Dan Quaye was part of the National U-17 team, the Black Starlets at the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Egypt. He was also a member of the Black Stars team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. He made 10 appearances for Ghana between 2001 and 2006.
