The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has announced a revision of the curfew hours for Hamile Township and its surrounding communities in the Lambussie District of the Upper West Region.

The new curfew hours, which take effect on Thursday, November 5, 2026, will run from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am, following advice from the National Security Council and the issuance of an Executive Instrument.

In a statement, the Interior Minister urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and residents of the area to exercise restraint amid the challenges confronting the community.

Government further encouraged residents to adopt non-violent means of expressing their grievances to help restore and maintain peace in the area.

Meanwhile, a total ban remains in force on the possession of arms, ammunition and other offensive weapons within Hamile Township and its environs.

The Ministry warned that anyone found in possession of such weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
