They stated that 55% of the papers were leaked within 10 hours before the start of the exam, with one practical paper leaking five days earlier which was revealed in education think tank Africa Education Watch’s 2021 WASSCE Monitoring Report.

According to the report, student buy questions and answers from various telegram platforms with over two hundred thousand (200,000) subscribers, for amounts ranging from GH₵ 30 and GH₵ 150.

Mr. Kofi Asare who is the Executive Director of African Education Watch (EDUWATCH), presented excerpts of the findings at the launch of the report in Accra.

“Out of the 20 papers, we monitored, 55% of them leaked, 45% of them did not leak. All the 20 papers were circulated. Out of those circulated, 55% of them had the questions appearing in full or parts in the examination.”

“Food and Nutrition for example leaked. We blew the whistle and WAEC held a press conference on the 15th of September, threatening to sue us.”

The Education Think Tank earlier call on the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to investigate over alleged leaks paper in 2021 WASSCE.

This was after an announcement made by West African Examinations Council (WAEC) concerning the extracts of questions for the paper 2 of Elective Mathematics and Section A of English Language 2 were circulated on some social media before the starting time of the examination. They also added that the circulation of the paper was not extensive.
