Black Stars striker Kwame Opoku has completed his transfer to Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko.

The forward has returned to the Reds for a second spell after finalizing the free transfer. He played for Kotoko from 2020 to 2021 before departing to USM Alger.

According to the club, the prolific striker has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal that will run until mid-2027.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his delight at having the “proven goal-scorer” back in his squad.

“Kwame is a player who has grown tremendously since his first spell here. His time in Algeria and Morocco has sharpened his skills and added to his experience. He’s a proven goalscorer and creator, and I’m confident he will bring a lot of quality to our squad.”

The striker could make his debut in the club’s game against their biggest rival, Hearts of Oak, on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
