Akyem Kotoku Royals Football Club has sacked Seth Ablade from his role as head coach of the Akim Oda based team.
The club made the announcement a week prior to the restart of the betPawa Ghana Premier League later this month.
In the official statement released by the club, “Kotoku Royals Football Club have relieved Seth Ablade from official duties as head coach. The club would like to thank coach and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
In the wake of Ablade’s exit, the club has moved to appoint Akakpo Patron as interim head coach as the team works to find a permanent head coach. Patron served as head coach of lower division sides Cheetah FC and West African Football Academy.
Former footballer Ablade led Kotoku Royals through eight games in its debut in the Ghana Premier League winning one game, drawing another but losing six games.
The team ranks bottom of the 18 team league standings with just four points and is scheduled to play Legon Cities on Wednesday, December 21 when league returns from the 2022 FIFA World Cup induced break.
