GPL: Kotoko fightback to defeat leaders Aduana Stars

GPL: Kotoko fightback to defeat leaders Aduana Stars

Abdulai Gazale boldly dropped first choice goalie Danlad Ibrahim for Frederick Asare, so as Mohammed Alhassan for Mubarik Yussif. Captain Richard Boadu and Serge Zeze all returned after suspension.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin made no changes to the starting line up from their last game, maintaining experience figures like captain Joseph Addo, Adom Frimpong, Stephen Anokye Badu, Sam Adams and inform Frank Owusu.

Both teams begun the game on a blistering note, having taken the game at each other in a race to who’s getting the opening goal.

This finally led to Aduana Stars snatching the lead on the 26th minute through Isaac Mintah- the man who always steps up in big occasions.

On the 37th minute, Kotoko got themselves back on level terms through Steven Mukwala who netted his 11th goal of the season.

In the second half, the Porcupine Warriors returned explosively to snatch their second through Serge Zeze who scored with a beautiful finish.

Aduana Stars threw in more men in search for the equalizer but penetrating the Kotoko backline was always a canker.

Kotoko looked very relaxed in preserving their lead as they love to swing passes, conserve some energy and breaks on a counter.

Asante Kotoko with an important 2-1 win after full time to return to winning track.
