Kumasi Asante Kotoko have registered a second win in three games to extend its unbeaten run to three after enduring a terrible run to open the second half of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season second half.
At the Baba Yara Stadium, Kotoko bagged a 2-0 win over Legon Cities to move up to 10th place in the 18 team league standings but stay just five points off second placed Nations FC (45 points) after 29 games.
Goals from Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala and defender Nurudeen Mohammed in the 34th and 49thminute respectively got Kotoko the win.
After a dry spell during Kotoko’s woeful run that had The Porcupine Warriors lose six in seven games, Mukwala has scored in back to back games.
Kotoko had more goal attempts in the second half (five) compared to the first half (two) but created more dangerous attacks and total attacks in the second half than the first half.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s team take on Berekum Chelsea next on Friday, May 17 at the Berekum Golden City Park.
