GPL: GFA charges Accra Hearts of Oak for Safe Zone Breach in Young Apostles match

GPL: GFA charges Accra Hearts of Oak for Safe Zone Breach in Young Apostles match
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Accra Hearts of Oak SC have been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for violating safety and regulatory protocols during a recent Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles FC.

The charges, announced on March 9, 2025, cite breaches of Article 8(e) of the GFA Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols, 2025, and Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Ghana Premier League Regulations, 2019.

According to the GFA, the club allegedly allowed unaccredited individuals, specifically its supporters, to enter the designated Safe Zone during the match.

This action is considered a serious violation, as it not only constitutes misconduct but also risks bringing the game into disrepute.

The Safe Zone is a restricted area meant to ensure the safety of players, officials, and other accredited personnel during matches, and unauthorized access can lead to significant security concerns.

The GFA has given Accra Hearts of Oak SC until Tuesday, March 11, 2025, to respond to the charges.

Failure to address the allegations could result in further disciplinary action, which may include fines, points deductions, or other sanctions as outlined in the GFA regulations.
