The first tranche, Gh¢900,000, is to be disbursed in GH¢ 50,000 blocks to all 18 GPL clubs today, Friday December 4, 2020, with the remaining Gh¢ 900,000 of the total Gh¢ 1,800,000 to be released in due course. This was contained in a statement released by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ghana Premier League matches have been played behind closed doors since the start of the 2020/21 season in November.
This directive is expected to lessen the burden on club owners and administrators who have complained bitterly about the financial impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on their teams.
