GPL: Asante Kotoko drop vital points after frustrating goalless stalemate with Vision FC

GPL: Asante Kotoko drop vital points after frustrating goalless stalemate with Vision FC
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Asante Kotoko were unable to build on their recent victory over Hearts of Oak, settling for a 0-0 draw against Vision FC on Wednesday at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema in their outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture.

The stalemate leaves Kotoko four points behind the league leaders, with two games in hand. A win would have reduced the gap at the top to just two points, but the Porcupine Warriors were unable to break down a resilient Vision side.

The match was closely contested, with Kotoko dominating possession and creating several clear-cut chances. Vision, however, were not passive and produced opportunities of their own, with the visitors arguably coming close to snatching all three points.

Kotoko remain unbeaten in seven league matches, recording four wins and three draws, and currently sit seventh on the table. Their next challenge comes this weekend against league leaders Aduana FC.

Vision FC, now 10th, can take confidence from their performance and will look to build on the point when they face Basake Holy Stars in their next league fixture.
