Yesterday, July 7, 2021, around 12:30pm, a group of suspected armed men shot Kajaji Junior High School (JHS) teacher to death on Nyankontre/Premuase road in the Sene East District.
The deceased, Ennin Kojo Prah Junior, 29, met his “untimely” death when he was returning from Takoradi to Kajaji where he teaches after vacation.
Prah’s demise adds up to two teachers losing their lives as a result of armed robbery in the Sene East and Sene West respectively.
The first teacher, Asante Elijah died in between Shafa-Bantama, a section on Atebubu-Kwame Danso road in May, 2021 by robbers.
In respect, Government workers mostly those in Sene East considered the “rampant” killing of colleagues alarming hence the need to petition stakeholders-Sene East District Assembly, Sene East office of the Ghana Education Service and others.
During a demonstration march today, July 8, 2021, some of the protesters said the killing of teachers are becoming too many.
To others, it creates some kind of anxiety towards their lives and work.
It was also retaliated that the move is to seek justice for the affected including their families.
In their petition, they asked for assurance of proper security for all government workers in Sene East and West.
